Ishmael Gonzalez, Culinary Director

For over a decade, Ishmael Gonzalez has been the heart of dining at Sterling Estates of East Cobb. Born in Mexico, Ishmael came to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. Through hard work and determination—from construction to restaurant kitchens—he built a career rooted in passion and perseverance.

Since joining Sterling in 2013, Ishmael has:

• Prepared thousands of meals for residents, families, and staff
• Led award-winning culinary programs, garnering several Taste of East Cobb wins
• Created memorable dining experiences, from daily meals to large-scale events

What truly sets Ishmael apart is his philosophy:
